Other management requirements of LOTO
1. Lockout tagout shall be carried out by operators and operators themselves, and ensure that safety locks and signs are placed in the correct position. Under special circumstances, if I have difficulty in locking, I shall have someone else lock it for me. The safety lock key must be kept by the operator himself.
2, the use of safety lock, should be attached with the lock “danger, prohibit operation” warning sign, lock must be hanging. Under special circumstances, such as the valve of special size or power switch can not be locked, upon confirmation and written approval, only a warning sign can be hung without locking, but other auxiliary means should be used to meet the requirements equivalent to locking.
3. Before the operation, everyone involved in the operation should confirm that the isolation is in place and the Lockout tagout has been carried out, and communicate with relevant personnel in time. Lockout tagout should be maintained throughout the operation, including shift changes.
4. To ensure operation safety, operators may request additional isolation and Lockout tagout. When the operator doubts the effectiveness of isolation and locking, he/she may request that all isolation points be tested again.
5. Employees are not allowed to execute Lockout Tagout procedure unless they have been trained and authorized by their department.
